Welcome to the company presentation of POLYTEX COMPOSITE...

The company Polytex Composite s.r.o. was set up on 18 December 1998 as a 100 % daughter company of Kovona Karviná a.s. by setting apart a traditional production of FRP products from the parent company.
The newly established company took over the complete range of manufacturing and sales operations, space, production facilities and staff from the parent company, keeping up the long-standing tradition of this product range.

Our premises are in the Industrial park Karviná (formerly Kovona Karviná a.s.), where we also dispose of a manufacturing area of over 2200 m².

Currently, we manufacture a wide range of both machine-wound and manually wound products based on polyester and vinylester resins. Most of the production consists in production of customized large FRP parts for a range of manufacturing industries, energy distribution and water management.

The manufacturing record of our parent company, Kovona Karviná, dates back to the early 20 century (a brief summary of history up to 1971 is shown here). FRP products were a traditional product line of the parent company and wore the ”POLYTEX” trademark.

Between 1953 and 1970, the company made manually-wound and pre-impregnated pressed products, such as:

• safety helmets
• parts for cars and motorcycles, trailers, trams
• sanitary parts for compact bathroom/toilet shells

After 1970, a machine-winding technology for pipes was introduced, relying on the equipment by Plastrex, France. The product range consisted of DN 100 to DN 3000 pipes, including manually-wiped formed pieces.
